Here’s what you’ll get from our technical design review:
A structured expert review of your mechanical design, including clear action points, prioritisation and specific suggestions for improvement. We document the results using a standardised review framework with clear recommendations for the next steps.
- Design logic & function: plausibility check, critical points, failure modes
- Tolerances & Fits: critical dimensions, assembly clearance, potential tolerance pitfalls
- DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly): manufacturable geometries, ease of assembly, number of parts
- Material & Surface: appropriate choice of material, coatings, wear and corrosion risks
- Interfaces & Installation Space: Installation/assembly interfaces, service access, orientation
- Kick-off meeting to discuss the design
- Review report (PDF) containing findings, recommendations and priority levels (Must/Should/Could)
- Mark-ups/redlines on drawings or PDF exports (where appropriate)
- Review meeting to discuss the findings (online)
Please note: The process and services described above represent a typical approach. We will work with you to determine the scope, level of detail and specific structure of each step on a project-by-project basis.
- Confidentiality Agreement
- 3D data (e.g. STEP) and/or native CAD
- 2D drawings (if available), bill of materials
- Information on: operating environment, loads, service life, target manufacturing process
Scope of work:
- up to 15 individual parts and 4 assemblies
- Manufacturing processes: turning/milling, plastic injection moulding, 3D printing, aluminium die-casting
- 1 iteration cycle (implementation, review, adjustment, final report)
Optional extras:
- Tolerance chain/stack-up (for critical functional dimensions)
- Manufacturing feedback (supplier/technology alignment)
- Design-to-Cost workshop (number of parts, standardisation, simplification)
