“From the very beginning, our collaboration with B&W Engineering was characterized by genuine team spirit and a high degree of professionalism.
Together, we successfully completed a complex project with the highest standards of safety and functionality. We were particularly impressed by how quickly the B&W team understood our requirements and how flexibly they responded to changes. Communication was always open, solution-oriented, and on an equal footing. That’s why we were able to find pragmatic and innovative solutions together, even when faced with challenges.”

About Forschner

Forschner was founded in 1948 and initially focused on the manufacture of precision turned parts. In the 1960s, the production of electromechanical components was added. Around thirty years later, cabling systems and wiring harnesses for commercial vehicles were added. This diversification and the development of new product areas created the basis for sustainable growth. Numerous supplier awards motivate the approximately 3,000 Forschner employees worldwide to continue setting themselves high goals.

Our contribution

B&W supported Forschner in the development of a high-voltage distributor (HVV). The development encompassed hardware, software, and mechanics: thanks to many time- and resource-saving processes (such as simulation and detailed requirements management), we were able to deliver a B-sample in just three months. But speed is not everything. With our comprehensive expertise in functional safety and innovative approaches, we were able to create a product that meets the highest safety standards and can be used flexibly in solo and articulated buses. A particular challenge was the efficient passive cooling of the HVV, which allows it to be decoupled from the vehicle cooling system, thus offering greater freedom in vehicle design.
