B&W has intensively analysed the interface between industrial design, AI and medical technology. In doing so, we realised that the design of smart glasses not only has an aesthetic dimension, but also an emotional and ethical one.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Digitalisation and the use of AI technologies are currently revolutionising numerous industries, including healthcare. Smart glasses can, for example, help to reduce the workload of nursing staff and improve patient care. But how does this affect the all-important doctor-patient relationship? The answer is complex and depends on the design of the glasses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

It was found, reported also medicine & technology<\/a><\/em>that unobtrusive designs that resemble traditional reading glasses increase patient acceptance. They allow the wearer to be perceived as competent and trustworthy. In contrast, conspicuous designs, especially those with large headsets and displays, can reduce patient confidence.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

This aspect is particularly relevant as face-to-face interaction and the relationship with the patient are of crucial importance in the healthcare sector. So we should take on the task that, in addition to functionality, the design of smart glasses must also be taken into account. The design should be ergonomic but also offer the possibility to recognise important facial features and non-verbal behaviour.<\/p>\n

We understand the importance of design and its impact on the acceptance of technology in healthcare.
